What is the age limit for UPSC CSE 2026?
Candidates must be between 21 and 32 years of age as on August 1st, 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for OBC, SC/ST, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen as per government rules.
What is the application fee?
โน100 for General and OBC male candidates. SC/ST, PwBD, and all female candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
Can candidates apply for specific services directly?
No, candidates apply for the Civil Services Examination. Allotment to specific services (IAS, IPS, IFS, etc.) is done based on rank obtained in the final merit list, preferences indicated by the candidate, and their eligibility for the respective service.
When will the Mains Examination be conducted?
The Mains Examination is typically conducted in September/October, approximately 3-4 months after the Prelims result. Specific dates will be announced in due course on the UPSC website.
